Well, I'm in a crucial phase of my life and the Au Pair program is something challenging for me and also I think for my family.
I'm here to share with you an overview about Long Island, New York and also contrasting with my previous experience in Eugene, Oregon.

Okay, here we go!
1. What am I doing here?
Well, I didn't talk with a lot of people about what I'm doing in USA but now, I would like to share once it is been over a year and it is taking more of my time than I thought it was going to do.
<PT>Bom, eu não falei muito da minha experiência nos Estados Unidos mas agora, eu gostaria de compartilhar uma vez que isso está sendo mais de um ano e está tomando bem do meu tempo, mais do que eu pensei que iria.
I'm working under J1 visa, as an Au Pair. I don't make a lot of money with it, so no, sorry no gift for you my old friend that never text me and will do it when you know I'm almost coming back home.
<PT> Estou trabalhando com o visto J1, como uma Au Pair. Eu não faço muito dinheiro aqui, então não, desculpe mas sem presente para você meu velho amigo que nunca me mandar um teto e fará isso assim que souber que estou voltando pra casa.
2. Life abroad
The life outside of your home country is pretty different and challenging. I spent my first year in Oregon where everything is green and we have a kind of "freedom". But then I decided to change it and go to a fresh "air" while exploring NY state. I'm in Long Island right now, living here for about 2 months and no family at all near to me.
<PT> A vida fora do seu país de nascimento é bem diferente e desafiadora. Eu gastei meu primeiro ano em Oregon onde tudo é muito verde e você tem aquela ideia de Liberdade. Mas então eu decidi mudar isso e ir para um "ar fresco" enquanto exploro o estado de Nova Iorque. Estou em Long Island agora, vivendo aqui por quase 2 meses e sem família perto de mim.
3. Differences between NY and OR
So the 3 things I found out that is different between Long Island and Eugene are:1 - Traffic em LI is pretty terrifying
2 - Eugene has more bike path and green areas around.
3 - The weed in Oregon is recreational in NY is prohibited
<PT> Então as 3 coisas que descobri que é diferente entre Long Island e Eugene são:
1- O trânsito em LI é muito terror
2 - Eugene tem mais caminhos para bicicleta e áreas verdes ao redor.
3 - A maconha em OR é recriacional e em NY é proibido.
In LI the things take longer to be accomplished once the traffic is busy and in the rush hours plus snow day it could be hours and hours of waiting. So bad for you my friend.
Eugene has more bike paths once the city is considered to be the top 10 Greenest City in USA and checking the http://www.greenwasheugene.com/eugene-or/ website. Guys in LI are more attractive than in Oregon (90%) maybe I'm a picky girl lmao.
In Eugene was come the smelling the weed for wherever you go what it is pretty different here in LI, where everything looks more conservative and hides off.
<PT> Em LI as coisas levam mais tempo para ser realizados uma vez que o tráfico é intenso e nas horas de mais movimento mais um dia de neve pode ser horas e mais horas de espera. Muito ruim pra ti, meu amigo.
Eugene tem mais caminhos de bicicleta e é considerado ser a top 10 cidade mais verde dos Estados Unidos e checando o http://www.greenwasheugene.com/eugene-or/ website. Os caras em Long Islanda são mais atrativos do que em Oregon (90%) talvez eu sou muito dificil mesmo AHAHAHAA.
Em Eugene o cheiro da maconha ia não importa onde vc estivesse o que é bem diferente aqui em LI, onde tudo parece mais conservador e escondido.
Well, I'm learning more about this state every day and I'm pretty excited to show you more curious things about life outside of Brazil.
